De koppeling van de scooter bepaald grotendeels het toerental waarbij de scooter wegtrekt. Een standaard koppeling is niet verstelbaar waardoor er andere trekveren nodig zijn om het toerental waarbij de koppeling aangrijpt te verhogen. Racekoppelingen zijn vaak verstelbaar waardoor de veerspanning zelf ingesteld kan worden. Enkele voorbeelden van deze koppelingen; stage6 torque control, malossi mhr deltaclutch, Polini for race 3g en de Hebo verstelbaar.
