Met een zijstandaard staat je scooter schuiner en kun je hem makkelijker op de standaard zetten. Het verschil daarnaast, ten opzichte van een gewone middenstandaard, is dat het achterwiel gewoon op de grond staat bij gebruik van een zijstandaard.
