Oil seal for the gearbox input shaft, made of Rulon®.
What is Rulon®? Rulon is the trade name for a family of PTFE plastics. Rulon plastics are known for their low coefficient of friction, excellent abrasion resistance, wide operating temperature range and chemical inertness.
The shaft seal on the gearbox input shaft is subjected to extreme loads due to the high rotational speed of the shaft. This is where Rulon® can show its full potential.
- Very low coefficient of friction -> lower friction losses compared with conventional materials
- Longer service life than conventional materials due to high abrasion resistance.
