Elke cilinder wordt bevestigd d.m.v. zogeheten tapeinden. Dit zijn metalen stangen met schroefdraad aan beide kanten. De ene kant wordt in de carters geschroefd de andere kant wordt de cilinderkop mee vastgedraaid.
