Stickers require a clean, smooth, and degreased surface for permanent adhesion. Our brake cleaner is an excellent solution for degreasing. For larger surfaces, it is always advantageous to spray some water on the surface before sticking on the sticker. The water can be mixed with a few drops of detergent to increase slipperiness. This allows for adjustments to be made during application without damaging the sticker. If the sticker is on a carrier sheet, you can use a plastic squeegee to remove any excess water by pulling the squeegee diagonally and with light pressure over the surface. This will eliminate any water pockets that would otherwise dry slowly and compromise adhesion. Additionally, using the squeegee will improve the connection between the sticker and the surface. Those with steady hands can also position the sticker directly without using water.
